Client: A Global Hydraulic Systems Manufacturer
Challenge: The client encountered difficulties in measuring coating thickness on chrome-plated piston rods (25-80mm diameter). Traditional probes failed to maintain stable contact on curved surfaces, resulting in measurement deviations of up to ±20%.
Solution: We provided a dedicated cylindrical probe solution featuring interchangeable large and small V-shaped slots. A single probe can adapt to diameters within 100mm by switching between slots, enabling simultaneous measurements on both flat surfaces (small V-slot) and curved workpieces (large V-slot).
Results:
• Achieved ±1μm measurement accuracy on cylindrical surfaces
• Reduced measurement time by 70% compared to traditional probe methods
• Completely eliminated accuracy deviations caused by conventional measurement tools
